About us

Growing up in the Amalfi Coast chef and owner Domenico «Mimmo» Rendina learned his was around the kitchen from watching his Nonna and mother cook for the family, passing on traditional family recipes and a passion for cooking. Mimmo, as his friends call him, brings his Southern Italian roots and Calabrian flavors to Panama City Beach to elevate already loved classics and introduce a new flair of flavors from all the regions in Italy to create an unforgettable experience.   

History of Restaurant

Bella Roma opened their doors in May of 2020 amidst a global pandemic, fortunately after the shutdown we decided to push through and bring the best Italian Cuisine Panama City Beach has ever seen, since then people have fallen in love with all of our food and have made Bella Roma a must visit destination for many vacationers as well as our beloved locals.

Food was very good. Service was average. Atmosphere could be improved to make this a better dining experience commensrate with the quality of the food. Lighting was bright, to the point of annoying because of a “floodlight” over the bar nearly blinding to our table in the restaurant. The cheap “artwork” of scenes from Italy hanging on the walls was better suited for a diner. Will go back for the food, but with a little attention lots of potential to be a popular place among those well known among the many choices we are so fortunate to have in PCB.

We went there last night and it is a very VERY nice place! The food is AMAZING! Everything was very tasteful. EVERYTHING! I got the Chicken Piccata and I was very impressed with. Wasn’t just chicken, carpers, lemon and angel hair … no, I am sure that the Chef put some love when he is cooking and surprise surprise, some artichoke chips as well!!! OH MY GOD! I didn’t have space for dessert BUT I couldn’t resist the Tiramisu and again, was AMAZING! In the end I was with a mix of little bit sad and happy. Sad because I am from Orlando and I can not come every week how I would like and happy because we decide to back in the next day.

Hey everyone! We had dinner last night at Bella Roma Tuscan Grille. There is a new owner that has brought his own flair to the menu. Some of the staples have remained but there are many new options plus the daily specials! I had the Grilled Octopus appetizer and the Salt Crusted Branzino. Susan had the Tuscan Soup with Kale and Potatoes and Squid ink Linguine with Crab and Peas. It was tough making a selection because so many things sounded great! We always liked going there under the previous owner. The new chef/owner seems to be taking it to the next level. If you want a great night out and an opportunity to try some truly good food give this place a try.

Overall the best available Italian in PCB. Nice menu, great quality. Service can go further to match the menu prices, but still pretty good. My one observation is with the pizza, which was very good. On the menu it states that pies can not be ordered with half toppings. We asked the server about it and they confirmed the chef is very strict with it. Found that very strange. I've been around pizza for a very long time and can say I've never run into it before. An unnecessary turn off. Anyway, Bella Roma is definitely worth the trip.
